300m. Hurdles

The other day at my first SHS track meet, i ran the 300m. hurdles. its different from the 200m hurdles in middle school because its a longer race, the hurdles are at im (intermediate) height, and theyre spread out a lot more. Anyway for my first meet i was in the jv heat. we hadnt even done the 300 before that day so i was just gonna wing it. unfortunately, it didnt work out like i thought it would. i didnt go as fast as usual and payed for it when i went over the last hurdle. my trailing leg caught on the hurdle and i tripped right at the end of the race. I scraped up my knees and hands a little but the real damage was in my arm. my mom, who is a nurse, was watching from the bleachers and asked if my arm hurt at all. I couldn't even bend it up, and she told me i broke my radial head. The radial head is part of the elbow and is really easy to break. Mine wasnt broken, but we didnt know that. We went to the er and the doctor there (who was a complete retard) said it was def. broken. He referred us to the orthopedic doctor and he said the exact opposite. Its just sprained and should heal in a week or two. If my arm was broken, id have to quit track, which wouldve sucked a lot. Luckily its fine and i was able to run hurdles again in the meet yesterday at south lyon. I ran varsity and didnt fall that time. Anyway the picture up at the top shows what the elbow looks like and the hyperlink explains the importance of the radial head and how easy it is to fracture. Oh AND JESSIE SOO DISTRACTED ME BY SAYING, "RUN FORREST RUN!!" WHILE I WAS GOING OVER THE HURDLES!!! apparently the next day everyone made fun of her for "breaking me". yeah i dont know...i wasnt here that day. ANYWAY, i think thats good enough for one blog.

The ipod touch

About a year ago, i switched from the ipod video to the new iPod touch. I liked the whole idea that it had a touch screen and bought one after my grandpa gave me money for Christmas. My parents thought i was an idiot since i already had an ipod, but i like it a lot more than the video. First of all, the touch screen is not only cooler but its way bigger than the video's screen. I also like how when you turn the ipod on it's side you can flip through your music by album. Another thing that's cool is that the touch has internet, youtube, and other apps that let you do really cool stuff on your ipod. The only thing is you need wi-fi which is a drag sometimes. My favorite thing about this ipod though is that you can go onto itunes and download music from your ipod. So the only time you really have to plug your ipod into the computer is when you're charging it. The video i had before had more space on it than the touch, but i don't need that much space on my ipod. I only have about 160 songs on there. But the big thing that the video didn't have was the apps that you can have on a touch. You can do almost anything on the itouch because of those apps. However, the ipod touch is pretty much NOTHING compared to the iphone. The iphone does everything a touch does and about 10 times more. Not only can you call and text, but it has it's own wi-fi which makes everything way easier. It also has a lot more space than the touch so you can hold more music, photos, and apps. One of my friends has an iphone and it's amazing. I would get one in a second if my family belonged to at&t. It's expensive to pay for monthly, but the actual iphone is a lot less expensive than the touch. More than anything, i want it because it combines the cellphone and ipod into one. I always take my phone and ipod everywhere with me and it would be so much better if they came in a package...like the iphone.

Track and Field

First i just wanna say that its pretty much amazing that we get a half day today cuz skool is boring. Second is that i actually know what im gonna blog about today. So for stevenson, ive been swimming for the last 4 months or so and before that i was on the tennis team. My next sport is track and it starts monday (3/9/09). I did track in middle skool and was pretty much the best hurdler they had. I did the 200m. hurdles, the quarter mile, high jump, and the 4x400 relay. I did pretty good in the other events but i was best in the 200 hurdles. I can't remember my best time but i know i always got first. Seventh grade i ran mostly sprints like the 200m and 100m but i didn't do that good in those events. I also ran the 100m hurdles but i hated it because the hurdles are so close together and i always hit the guy in the lane next to me. For relays, i always got screwed because the guy who ran after me was the slowest runner in the world. Im not even kidding, i couldve walked faster. High jump i did pretty good for awhile. The best height i ever got was 5'9" but i was never able to get that high again. I also gave myself a bloody nose one time when i was attempting 5'11". I tucked my knees too much and when i landed, they smacked right into my nose. I felt like a retard. Anyway this year i plan on doing hurdles again and hopefully the quarter mile. I probably wont do high jump just because ever since that accident i basically lost all of my talent.

My phone: the Voyager

Blogging is really hard to do because i can never think of what to blog about. especially this time cuz we need a hyperlink. It's been a really long time since the last time we blogged. my last post was about christmas break or something like that. I also like reading other people's blogs, like jessie's. her newest one is funny cuz it's about my sharpie. she says she's been having an affair with my sharpie and i'm evil cuz i don't let her touch it all over. All she does with my sharpie is steal it and draw on her folder with it all hour and then she forgets to give it back so i decided to just keep it in my case thing. Even though she just stole it im going over there in a minute to get it back.

Anyway i gotta blog about somethin useful so here it is. I gotta new phone over the break this winter and its one of those new voyagers with a touch screen and keyboard. the LG Voyager is pretty cool cuz it has everything i want in a phone and it wasn't hugely expensive. I used the $$ i got 4 christmas to get it. the one on the hyperlink isn't the same one i have. mine is the titanium version. this one is a little bit older then mine but it has the same features pretty much. really the only thing i use my phone for is texting and sometimes calling, but it also lets me put music on it and surf the web. i can i.m. people and do all other kinds of crap. basically it's amazing. it's a lot better than my old razor which was ready to break any second. Anyway i think thats enough for one blog.
